Japanese Tunnel Planter - Red

The Tunnel Planter is handcrafted in Japan, designed to look like part of a city-scape. Finished with red mortar, this planter is designed to wear with age, taking on an appearance of a building with a rich history.

Individually hand-made by Nobuhiro Sato, a craft designer from Kyoto, Japan, who generates products with special attention to the material used and the stories they tell.

Using the same technique and materials used for building structures he uses mortar, a material typically used to fill gaps between blocks in construction, which is then poured into a wooden mould to obtain the distinct texture and design that resonates throughout Sato’s collection.

By incorporating natural colour and edges from the hardening of the mortar, each piece is unique and emits a sense of warmth when used in our daily lives.
