Tokyo Icon Cup

The Tokyo Icon collection of Japanese porcelain is produced by the company Kihara based in Arita; a well known porcelain industrial area with a 400 year history.

This cup is part of the Tokyo Icons collection and has 69 line-drawn icons representing Tokyo, rendered on Arita porcelain.

Together this collection captures the spirit of the place through familiar cultural symbols.

Region: Kyūshū and Okinawa
This is Japan’s south-west region including the island of Kyūshū and the sub-tropical island chain of Okinawa. Kyūshū was an early centre of Japanese civilization, and offers many historic treasures, modern cities and volcanic natural beauty. It is home to the ports of Kagoshima, Nagasaki and Fukuoka, the porcelain manufacturing centre in Arita and the Tanegashima Space Center launch site.
